Lead project electrical and automation engineer for newbuild drillshipEngineering & Commissioning Manager for newbuild drillship.Led the design effort to create the first DP drillship in the world to be endorsed by a major Class Society for closed bus operation while working in a DP3 mode. This required the integration of many electrical and controls initiatives pioneered by Global Sante Fe and Transocean. This challenge to the status quo was ultimately recognized by Class and resulted in new Class rules that endorsed innovative design features of the rig. The rig was delivered on time, on budget and had the lowest rate of non-productive time of more than seven peer rigs in its first year of operation.
