Dr. James D. Nickman graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1997 and obtained a Masters of Science degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Minnesota in 1999. Dr. Nickman is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the International College of Dentistry. Dr. Nickman is active in the Minneapolis District Dental Society, Minnesota Dental Association, and is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He is a past-president of the Minnesota Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, past-President of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and a past-President of the Minnesota Dental Association. He currently serves as chair of the American Dental Association Council of Dental Education and Licensure, chairs the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry’s Committee on Dental Benefit Programs, and chairs the Minnesota Dental Association’s Legislative Committee. He has also served as a Public Policy Advocate for the Minnesota Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Nickman is active in the St. Odilia's Catholic Church. He currently serves as a Trustee on the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Foundation and serves on the board of the America’s Dentists Care Foundation. Dr. Nickman also serves as the Pediatric Lead for the Minnesota Mission of Mercy.
