Restaurant System - (Aloha - Open Table) (2000-2017) Reduced the maintenance cost for the Open Table reservation system by managing a Digital Transformation project to migrate the platform from a legacy system to a digital system.Improved the performance and availability of the Aloha restaurant system by upgrading software releases (8) and assisting Corporate Business Owners with making configuration changes. Achieved store opening deadlines by successfully installing the Aloha system to eight (8) additional locations. Collaborated with external vendors, business owners and internal infrastructure teams.Lowered maintenance costs by managing the hardware migration from aging IBM terminals to new NCR terminals.Managed a network re-engineering effort to rewire all restaurant POS terminals to the NM network store infrastructure.Saved maintenance costs by replacing obsolete POS hardware with new POS hardware (IBM).Significantly reduced maintenance costs and improved system availability on a legacy restaurant system (20/20) by managing hardware support, troubleshooting system problems and performing configuration maintenance.

POS System (2000-2017)Resolved significant data issues by developing a POS front end data system that included 38 different processes using CICS and Batch COBOL II programs using VSAM databases. Data files were sent to over ninety (90) NM locations. Significantly reduced data transfer errors by designing and developing 4,000+ OS/390 upload and download jobs using secure file transfer (SFTP) to transfer data between a mainframe and windows/Linux servers.

Credit System (1998-2000) Led the effort of installing a Vendor package (PAYSYS) of 16,000 modules into the Neiman Marcus environment. Standardized program compiles, JCL changes and element depository to make compiles and testing easier to the testing team and for business reconciliation. Received department awards for a successful project completion.Inventory System (1995-1998) Streamlined Inventory system jobs and COBOL programs to run faster and more efficient. Corrected 73 MVS JCL jobs and redesigned several logical processes to run in 25% of the original run time. Received employee department awards for the improvement made to year end physical inventory processes.Precious Jewelry System (1996-1998) Maintenance and enhancements of the COBOL and CICS precious jewelry systems. Developed an inventory recording process that allowed the store staff to take monthly inventories and eliminate the need for a 3rd party vendor to record a mid year and year end inventory. This resulted in a save of $500,000 a year savings for the company.Payroll and HR (1995-1996) Payroll and HR Systems maintenance and support of the GENESYS 3rd party vendor package. Developed new processes in support of the business users.Merchandise Accounts Payable (1994 - 1995) Merchandise accounts payable system. Developed an automation process to eliminate manual reconciliation of payables to retail ledger recording.

Participated in a department cross training initiative to learn different aspects of the business. Managed Staff of 6. Managed workload during shift. Managed Operations analysts to job abends, job schedule monitoring and completion. Managed Tape processing and print workload. This was a company initiative to cross train applications staff with Operational processes and familiarization of company systems, business user demands and application interdependencies among multiple systems.

Human Resource Systems support and enhancements. Managed business workflow for enhancements and problem resolution. Began project feasibility and discovery phase to replace the in-house COBOL HR system with a 3rd party vendor supplied HR system (GENESYS). The project had previously stalled due to incomplete project design and deliverables. A new feasibility study outlined all positive functionality resulting in business acceptance of the new system.

Systems migration of the Financial Systems, Human Resource Systems and Payroll Systems from Carter Hawley Hale systems to Neiman Marcus systems. Migration of systems included creating loadlibs of all existing programs by recompiling current programs with associated copylibs and include members. Parallel testing included the matching of results between existing production data flow processes with the paralleled recompiled processes. Reconciliation of programs which failed testing results of initial migration. Found correct include and copy lib members, recompiled programs and corrected compile errors. Retested programs by parallel testing of systems.

IBM 4300series DOS/VSE COBOL, VSAM, CICSDevelopment of online CICS programs. Developed programs to load client data to VSAM files, update via CICS programs and extract fulfillment data to tape files sent to client. Clients included several major brands.

IBM 4300series, DOS/VSE, COBOL, VSAM, DL/1, CICS Migrated financial systems from Tandy Corp. to Color Tile Inc. This consisted of new development of financial systems in COBOL. Paralleled Tandy systems which were written in Assembly language with corresponding Color Tile new COBOL programs. Validation included matching end reports and files with legacy Tandy and new Color Tile processes.Developed new automation CICS programs to replace data entry financial processes.Saved research time for Vice Presidents by developing Online Profit and Loss reporting eliminating the necessity of searching through printed reports.Saved research time for the CFO by developing an Online Balance Sheet screen.System support included General Ledger Allocations, Inventory reporting, Employee Stock Option reporting, Financial P&L CICS online viewing, Balance Sheet reporting and Bank Reconciliation system.
