For PI-9 through PI-16, I led and orchestrated the planning process. In doing so, I introduced visuals to synchronize teams, templates to clarify requirements and reports that assessed both progress and outcomes throughout the planning. Ultimately these tools facilitated communications and deliverables leading up to each BRP. This planning process has also evolved because of retrospectives I led to foster continuous improvement. Using this framework, additional TPMs are now able to lead PI Planning more effectively.In early 2019 and with a colleague, I developed and delivered an Agile course, based on courses previously delivered by an outside consultant. "Agile @ Audible" is part of an orientation for all new hires in Audible's Tech Organization; it has been customized and is thus adaptable. This project has saved the company $165,000 annually. I have also designed visual quarterly reports which allow managers to align resources to investment categories for each PI. Finally, I leveraged Jira tooling to create process solutions for the tech org - e.g. visual program boards.

Starting in July 2017, I built and managed the Agile Engineering Center of Excellence which has since trained and enabled 22 Agile teams in the Labs Organization. This CoE has laid the framework for measuring and governing the Agile practices that are employed in labs. In doing this we laid the foundations for building a PMO for effective release planning and Program Management. In addition, I have taken training and done much research to map out a plan for adopting SAFe to scale our software development practices to the program and eventually the portfolio levels. I took an active role in Project Managing across several teams for the feature called “Candidate Search”. This allowed me to learn the intricacies of how each team worked while making incremental process improvements and gaining the context needed for making the plans to adopt SAFe. Test Engineering Manager – UNIFi February 2017 – July 2017 In the first few months at iCIMS I made a positive impact on the quality of Test Cases by codifying the way Acceptance Criteria were defined and written. I believed that better Acceptance Tests led to better test case design and ultimately increased the quality of our product. I created a template and used it to lead the adoption of the "Given/When/Then" format for ACs in iCIMS Labs.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, I was responsible for building and managing the software development team. The team consisted of 5 offshore and 6 local software application developers to produce several software applications used to manage and transfer large video files for media production companies.I changed the software development process by introducing Agile and SCRUM methodologies to ensure predictable schedules from software development teams. In addition, I was responsible for the software development of a digital media asset management system and I managed the project to deliver this system to The Grand Olde Opry in Nashville Tennessee. This was a 1 year and $700K engagement.

Reporting to the Managing Director of SSL, I was responsible for hiring, building and managing the team of software application developers. The team consisted of 15 offshore and 4 local software application developers who produced several software applications used to manage, edit and transcode video files for broadcast and government facilities. The technologies that were used included C#, Silverlight, DirectShow, & Adobe FMS. I was responsible for making decisions regarding implementation details, including which technologies would be used. I led technical design meetings and application design reviews.I changed the software development process by introducing Agile and SCRUM methodologies to ensure predictable schedules from software development teams. I also managed the deliveries and cost planning and control. My annual budget was $720K.

I was hired by and reported to the president of the DV division to build a Customer Service team to respond 24/7 to worldwide Broadcast, Medical, and Government markets. I utilized presentation, customer relationship management, and negotiation skills to improve relationships with 2 major clients, who were withholding payment from SSL. Ultimately, I turned them into satisfied, paying customers: The total revenue managed from service contracts was ~$340,000 annually. To improve efficiency of the software application releases, I built and codified a Software Quality Assurance team to test the Gravity product line, a video editing and asset management system. In this role, I hired and mentored several inexperienced leads, helping them become productive, valued members of the SQA Team.

As Manager of Test, I reported to the Director of Quality. My responsibilities were to Plan, Schedule, and Manage the Test program for a security and surveillance system. I hired, built, and managed a team of 12 integration and test engineers. I was responsible for Factory and Field Acceptance Testing and system performance and acted as liaison between 4-D and the primary contractor re an intrusion detection system.

I investigated problems which escalated from Support. I successfully logged those problems, narrowed down variables and reported resolutions from Engineering. I managed the external beta program for Pinnacle’s On-Air Graphics products. In this role, I facilitated, evaluated and responded to feedback from beta sites. Ultimately, I acted as the first line of support for issues with the beta software.As my team expanded, I was named Team Lead. I began to supervise & develop other testers. I built my growing SQA team’s infrastructure by creating test plans and matrices, maintaining libraries of materials for regression testing, documenting expected test results, and determining objective pass/fail criteria. I also wrote manufacturing procedures and trained manufacturing personnel on how to build and test hardware & software products. Further, I designed and developed software tools utilized within Pinnacle products.

As Lead Software Engineer, I wrote code for and managed through all project phases NUWAVE PicturePrep, an image editor for PCs. I interfaced with beta testers and addressed their issues. In my development role, I designed and tested image enhancement algorithms, as well as analog and digital circuits. I also installed, administrated, and maintained company LAN and web servers.

As a Systems Integration Technician, I terminated cables and assembled harnesses & custom control panels while working in the shop. At field sites—e.g. MSNBC in Secaucus and “The Genesis Project” at NBC 30 Rock—I integrated broadcast equipment and connected cables as per wiring lists.
