I started working in the sign industry as a boy back in the mid-1970s, and relocated to Seattle in 1988. As president of The Sign Factory USA, a Kirkland-based branding and signage business, I supervised the design, manufacture, and installation of prominent electrical signs for businesses locally and throughout North America. The Sign Factory team’s proudest achievement was winning the 2009 contract to recreate the historic but deteriorated-beyond-repair 80-year-old sign for the Paramount Theatre in downtown Seattle. We replicated the 65-foot-high lighted metal structure, named “the most significant sign in Seattle” by the City of Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board. My team completed the construction and installation of a beautiful sign that is 90 percent more energy efficient than the original. In 2012, The Sign Factory merged with the design-build manufacturer superGraphics. Now at Total Brand Management (TBM), I collaborate with businesses that understand the value of promoting brand awareness to differentiate themselves from the competition. I have collaborated with Fortune 500-level companies like Starbucks, Amazon, Sports Authority, Whole Foods, and Cadillac, high-profile organizations like Paramount Theatre and Washington State University, and many prominent locally based retail shops, food and beverage outlets, banks, and healthcare offices. I help clients assemble “dream teams” of branding experts and vendors to conceptualize, design, produce, and install effective, targeted branding materials and signage—messaging that sets these exceptional organizations apart from all others. Specialties: Concept creation; brand messaging; designing, manufacturing, and installing branding materials and signage; exterior lighted signage; interior branding visuals; LED lighting intelligence; custom fixturing; complete manufacturing; onsite installation; project management; team building; project cost estimation; budget oversight.
