I have enjoyed many years in engineering, having started my journey by teaching at the University of Colorado. I had the privilege of working at the Solar Energy Research Institute (now the National Renewable Energy Laboratory) in Golden, Colorado, followed by many years at UTC-Pratt & Whitney working in the field of composites and advanced technologies. I have had the good fortune to perform as a Designer, a Structural Analyst, in a variety of Lead roles (exercising both technical and Project skills) and have had the honour of advancing the state of the art in composite material system design and analysis for many jet engine components over many engine programs (both commercial and military).I am continuing my educational journey by pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Connecticut. In addition, I am also the Technical Content Owner and Instructor for four Engineering Technical University courses: (1) Composite Design I - Introduction (2) Composite Design II - Best Practices (3) Composite Design III - Mechanics and (4) Composite Design IV - Testing

This remarkable piece of equipment has proven to be highly competitive in the marketplace. In this role, I am continuing my responsibilities as a Structures Integrator, although the position no longer officially exists. I continue to lead structures, primarily for the static components (cases, frames, stators, and so forth) and am able to leverage the skills that I obtained both at a Composite Discipline Lead and as a Structures Integrator. I am supporting two different Component Integrated Product Teams for both metallic and composite parts. -
Structures IntegratorPratt & Whitney Aug 2014 - Jan 2016East Hartford, Ct, UsEssentially the voice for the Structures Discipline in the Component Integrated Product Team, this role was a Structures Lead and more, I had the opportunity to address both in-house and issues in the field. I was responsible for all of the cold section parts for several engine programs, acting as the liaison between the various Part Families who performed the daily structural analysis and the Program Office Principle Chief Engineers (integrating the needs of both, as the title implies). I worked directly with the CIPT Leader on a daily basis, ensuring that the team worked smoothly and effectively as items pertained to Structures. A key benefit in the position was that I was able to interact with our Chiefs and Fellows frequently, allowing me to learn from their expertise in a wide spectrum of areas. In addition, I had the honour of working directly with our customer.I also had the opportunity to develop new analytical methods in addition to our established engineering standard work.Although I greatly enjoyed this role, the company performed a reorganization that, unfortunately, eliminated this position. I was highly rated in this position, and was in high demand for my subsequent role, starting on January 1st, 2016. -
