Founded in 1900, the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago (JUF/JF) is one of the largest nonprofit social welfare institutions in Illinois. JUF/JF provides the critical resources that bring food, refuge, health care, education, and emergency assistance to more than 500,000 people of all faiths throughout the Chicago area and 2 million Jews worldwide each year. Through distributions totaling over $140 million each year, JUF works with local, national and international organizations to ensure that necessities are provided for the most vulnerable members of our community (children, immigrants, the poor, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities) as well as creating identity-building programs and opportunities for every stage of life. Services are provided through JUF/JF directly, as well as through a vast network of partners.As Chief of Staff, my role is to work daily with the JUF/JF President, senior management and top lay leadership in pushing forward with ideas, strategies and execution in all of our business areas. To be successful, I focus on three tasks:-Alignment (between the JUF/JF President, senior management and executive staff)-Momentum (on projects, ideas, initiaitves)-Brokerage (between various parties within the ogranization)I also oversee various staff groups, provide direct supervision and maintain relationships with donors across multiple giving levels.
