I led the Industry Coordination and Recovery Group (established August 2020 in response to Covid 19). This was a demanding role which included: • consulting with industry on the Chief Health Officer’s industry restrictions; • working with the Department of Health on industry restrictions; • developing and approving public messaging and overseeing a large call center;• overseeing field engagement (currently 16 teams) with businesses regarding COVIDSafe obligations; • developing policy to assist economic recovery; and • managing a number of large grant programs.In this role I have had to quickly build, motivate, manage and oversee a number of very large teams. In March 2020, I was seconded from Precincts to help establish Working for Victoria – a substantial job creation program. This meant setting up the policy architecture for the program and negotiating and executing a substantial number of large grant agreements (to create socially useful jobs) across local government and the not for profit sector. As Executive Director in Priority Precincts (April 2019 - March 2020) I built and managed several high performing teams of urban planners, architects, economists and project managers to plan, secure funding for, and execute urban renewal programs in a range of priority areas – including Sunshine, Footscray and Parkville. In this role I also acted as Deputy Secretary, managing the division, on multiple occasions.
