Managing 10 stores in a district, I was focused on driving profitability; ensuring Best in Class Merchandising standards were applied consistently across the district; keeping staffing/labour levels within budget and optimal for each season; and limiting shrink. I was able to successfully execute these objectives through a talented team of store leaders whom I partnered with and am proud to have led. In a scorecard driven environment my district consistently met and exceeded profitability. In addition to profitability, the store look and/feel was achieved while adhering to Best Buy SOP’s.

In a succession of locations (including the largest Ontario footprint) I led a store management team to maximize profits under the Future Shop brand. I was also focused on developing and maintaining excellent customer service levels, exceeding employee engagement targets, and building a high performing store team and culture. I developed the ability to manage managers, execute and implement large-scale selling and operations programs, and track and utilize local market and competitor trends. With a focus on maximizing budgeted revenues and achieving sales and margin targets, I also drove special projects and pilot programs within the store. I developed operational skills in the areas of logistics, compliance to SOP’s, auditing and full counts, and health and safety.

As a manager, exceeded sales and margin targets through engaging employees within my department and throughout the store. I gained responsibility for floor management and opening and closing the store, while maintaining positive customer service and dealing with a variety of program implementations in a commissioned-sales environment. I gained credibility in my district (Southwestern Ontario) through consistent results, relationship-development and execution. In this role I was responsible for daily motivational associate meetings with large numbers of employees where I developed my public speaking skills.
