My father worked for Standard Oil and our family lived all over the world – including locations such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Lebanon – so early on I developed a taste for the diversity and excitement of new places. Mechanical design is one of the most interesting aspects of this business. I’ve seen technical breakthroughs that rival the miracles you would typically associate with NASA, and I’ve patented about 34 inventions. To this day, I’m still amazed and inspired by the sheer size and complexity the machinery we build and use in the exploration and production of Oil and Gas.My second area of expertise is business, especially financing of large-scale energy projects and the turnaround of under-performing companies.I feel very fortunate to be working in this business, because I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the brightest, most enjoyable, can-do people in any industry anywhere in the world!
