This role includes creating and developing long range strategic plans to connect upstream Oil Sands production with downstream refining assets - including alternative refinery process configurations to optimize asset integration and maximize corporate value across the entire value chain. Significant examples include the acquistion and reconfiguration of two refineries in Denver, CO and the merger of Suncor and Petro Canada followed by integration of the combined refining system.On going industry analysis with a focus on the downstream petroleum refining sector in society provides a context for this work.
