The Vice President, Military Programs leads all facets of the military business P&L and is a driving force in support of the company’s growth strategy and develops business strategies and relationships with the Department of Defense, government agencies and industry partners. Leads the implementation of the military program management strategy to support scalability and meet organizational performance targets.

Provide Executive Leadership for Company, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Program Management, Finance, and Business Development in the execution of company goals and strategies. Oversaw all Marketing, including setting marketing strategy; instituted changes in all marketing materials, websites, tradeshow messaging and booth construction. Oversaw all pricing for products, RFP’s, RFIs, and quotes. Assisted in the development of teams, teaming agreements and subcontracts. Worked with Department of Defense (DOD), DHS/CBP, NASA, and Intelligence Agencies.

Oversaw personnel and acquisition and deployment of a fleet of Aircraft to Europe and Middle East. Oversaw +75,000 missions safely executed. Personally flew over 500 missions in Afghanistan. Developed a proprietary statistical model that showed the efficiency of the services provided to the customers based on days of travel saved.  Directed the company through the process of attaining a SECRET and then TOP SECRET level facility clearance. Oversaw Executive Staff and Programs in support of all customers, including NRO, NGA, NSA, DOD and others. Maintained an active and close relationship with all customers. Negotiated all contracts with US government, prime and sub-contractors, and international companies, including aviation and supply companies throughout the Middle East. Oversaw the ISR division of Bear Defense, including the modification of aircraft and the acquisition and modification of aircraft including remote sensing and surveillance equipment and SATCOM installations.  Instituted Policies and Procedures that led to AS9100:Rev D certifications.  Held minority ownership stake in the business.

Developed both the Aviation Unit’s first Tactical Flight Officer Training Program and Safety Program. As Instructor, performed initial, emergency, and recurrent helicopter instruction for pilot candidates and line pilots. Performed standardization checks and Special Operations instruction including rappel, dive insertions, and firefighting operations. As Safety Officer, responsible for the Program Management, Data Analysis, and reporting of the Safety Program and investigating any Unit accidents or incidents. Managed all boards, conducted internal training on safety procedures, and maintained relations with other governmental agencies. Investigated any Aircraft accident within the City of Tampa’s jurisdiction. As TFO, responsible for the operation of helicopter equipment, such as Infrared cameras, spotlight, and police radios. Interacted with all OEM’s to ensure successful integration, training, and sustainment of equipment installed into Helicopters and ground support vehicles. Advised Command on acquisition strategies. As Police Officer/ Traffic Homicide Investigator, conducted routine patrols in high crime and entertainment areas. Responded as Traffic Homicide Investigator to Fatal and Serious Injury Crashes. After retirement in 2008, volunteered as a fully sworn Police Officer, performing Pilot-in-Command duties with aviation unit and augmented manpower with patrol, training, and marine unit.

Oversaw all aspects of training and support for the Gyrocam Systems EO/IR product line both within and outside of the United States. Full P&L accountability for $20+ million business unit. Key Achievements Expanded Scope of contracts from 11 personnel to 50 personnel Oversaw the training of >5000 Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen Operational readiness rates of greater than 95% on deployed EO/IR systems Oversaw all operations for Gyrocam Systems’ EO/IR installation and training services in support of DOD Contracts CONUS and OCONUS. Oversaw the development of all training curriculum and training for US Army, USMC, and Canadian Army contracts. Developed process to gather, collate, and disseminate training data, success rate, and re-training to ensure deployed employees were maintaining contractual training requirements. Interacted with the Ownership (Venture Capital Group) and Board of Director’s. Assisted on all proposals as technical author.
