Layout, hydraulic calculation, and coordination of new commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects in the greater Seattle area.

I design fire sprinkler systems from start to finish. The project isn't finished until the plans are approved and the pipe is hung. I have developed strong skills in 3d modeling and the BIM process. I have found innovative ways to get things done in much less time. I pride myself on my strong communication skills. They can be very useful in identifying problems and coming to a reasonable solution for all involved. More recently, I have been managing some projects which have been designed by others and managing discrepancies that arise during 3d coordination of trades and installation.

I was responsible for managing the design department. This was inclusive of overseeing projects submitted by outside consultants, as well as in-house designers. I was responsible for the development of junior designers as well as tracking their progress and administering disciplinary action when necessary. Responsible for hire/fire of junior and senior designers. The aspect I most enjoyed about this position was "stomping out fires" when a problem would arise. I enjoyed using my resourcefulness, communication skills, and problem solving skills to help the company.
