Responsible for developing pore pressure correlations, tubular designs and implementing drilling, completion, and work over plans as well as providing technical and operational support during the execution of those plans. Direct supervisory experience has also spanned turnkey drilling for Diamond Offshore, working for Noble Energy on a mudline tree drilling and development project offshore Ecuador, South America; Vastar and Kerr-McGee on their offshore Gulf of Mexico drilling and completion operations. Have supervised land drilling operations for Hunt Oil in Yemen, Thorp Petroleum in South Texas and BP in and Wyoming. Management and engineering assignments has spanned working for companies such as Bargo Energy, Wynn Crosby Energy and CMS NOMECO on property acquisitions and management of drilling projects in the Gulf of Mexico and Columbia South America.

Lafayette, Louisiana

Managed company assets consisting of over 100 producing properties, 3 drilling rigs and 7 workover rigs. Responsibilities included the engineering and management of the company’s drilling, production, workover and completion operations. Had significant responsibilities for the company’s P&L and budget. Through direct participation with company operating personnel we substantially improved the company’s safety performance and reduced operating costs. Responsible for the engineering, contracts, and operations of the company’s turnkey drilling operations. Lead the company in a $12 MM acquisition and divestiture program netting $3 MM to the company. Performed the company’s reserve and economic evaluations. Worked with company geologists in developing and selling development and exploratory well prospects.

Houston, Texas

Managed Phillips’ Partner Operated Properties in Louisiana, east and south Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Arkansas, Michigan, and the eastern half of the United States. Had full P&L responsibility of a $7.5 MM Capital and a $7.5 MM Operating Budget, with a volume contribution of 2800 BOPD and 27,000 mcfd, yielding and annual contribution of $25 MM. Worked with partners in the development, planning and implementation of a gas re-injection EOR project in the north Shangaloo Field, Northern Louisiana. Lead a joint venture team to develop coal seam gas in the Black Warrior Basin.

Lafayette, Louisianahouston, Texas

Brought in from the Ivory Coast to help startup a new office upon the company’s acquisition of Aminoil. Responsible for well testing, reserve evaluations, project development and economics in developing the companies fields offshore Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi and onshore Louisiana and Mississippi. Supervised an engineering staff of 12. Project justification and development of over 20 existing fields, 6 new fields, acquisition of partners’ interests in 4 fields, and the sale of Phillips’ interests in 50 properties. Initiated Phillips’ move into the use of a field based, computer-reporting network. Responsible for the development of a business portfolio model for use in the Gulf Coast Region. Five-year over-all results being an incremental production of 5890 MBO and 72.880 BCF with an incremental cash flow of $105.7 MM against expenditures of $446.9 MM having justified 16 out of 26 development wells drilled.

Abidjan Ivory Coast

Responsible for the drilling, completion, production, reservoir and marine engineering for the continued development of the Espoir Field. Supervised an expatriate staff of 10 engineers and an Ivorian staff of 8. Initially, an early development program consisting of 4 subsea completions producing to a jackup production platform and a VLM Tanker fixed to a CALRAM Buoy. Responsible for the drilling and completion engineering, planning and operations support for 3 additional subsea wells, two that were 65 and 70-degree directional wells, adding 150 MM BBLS reserves, under a project cost of $60 MM.

Denver, Colorado

Assignments included working with Phillips’ world wide drilling group on standardizing company drilling and well testing practices; working on a $40 MM property acquisition; and unitization of Phillips’ interest in the Kuparuk River Unit, Alaska which was a $70 MM commitment. Responsible for coordination and preparation of various engineering reports including hydrocarbon reserve estimates, production and income forecasts, property appraisals, secondary recovery and tertiary feasibility and optimization studies.

Worldwide

Supervised DP Drill Ship Operations of the Coasts of Greenland and Newfoundland. Supervised the installation of the first subsea completions Chevron installed in the Ninian Field in the North Sea and Casa Blanca Field offshore Spain. Supervised the drilling of numerous wells in the North Sea and Mediterranean Sea using a semi-submersible, jackup and platform drilling rigs. Supervised the drilling of numerous wells onshore Holland and onshore Sudan, Africa. Supervised drilling and completion operations in the Gulf of Mexico using jackup and platform rigs. Supervised the drilling and completion operations on wells reaching depths of 22,000 feet in the Permian and Anadarko Basin of west Texas. Developed Chevron’s computer program to calculate biaxial stress in tubing strings including tubing movement in PBR (Polish Bore Receptacle) for deep well completions.

Midland Texas

Production engineering assignments included working with 2 semi-automated gas fields producing 300 MMCFD and a waterflood project. I gained expertise in gas and oil separator design, field control, artificial lift, formation testing and stimulation.
