Jim brings the well-rounded experience of over 15 years working on a diverse range of civil engineering projects throughout the Western United States. As a senior civil engineer and project manager Jim has been tasked with a wide range of projects over his career spanning multiple facets of the civil engineering disciple; this experience allows Jim to work with or manage diverse teams seamlessly integrating all components without losing sight of the ultimate goal.Jim believes that the principal keys to a successful project are communication and coordination; regardless of the size or scope of the project, as long as the project team—Including jurisdictions, owners, and stakeholders—continue to communicate, successful outcomes follow. Jim follows a results-based design process encouraging his teams to focus not on problems, but on the solutions to design challenges.Jim’s primary focus is on transportation and site engineering with additional experience in drainage infrastructure, underground utilities, and construction administration. Jim has lead projects ranging from new roadway construction, haul roads and mine access roads, to airport aprons, sewer upgrades, and ports of entry to name just a few. Specializing in projects facing tight constraints and challenging site conditions Jim understands that successful projects require understanding the challenges but focusing on the solutions.
