Ark Biosciences is a start-up biotech company that focuses on antiviral drug discovery and development, especially in clinical development of novel antiviral drugs against respiratory viral infection.

As the founding director of biology department at Roche R&D Center China, I help estalish and manage the drug discovery programs in virology, oncology and metabolic diseases; In addition, I have the responsibility of setting up the external collaboration and alliance with academic institutes, universities and CROs. I am also involved in site management.

I was one of founding scientists at original Ribapharma (ICN Pharmaceutical), the R&D arm of Valeant Pharmaceutical, and was instrumental in setting up the R&D operation there. I headed Biochemistry Department initially that conducted all the in vitro assays and mechanistic studies for virology and oncology programs. Personally I was pround to conduct the original research on viramidine's mechanism of action and later established the CNS group that contributed to development of a second generation compound of retigabine. I contributed to a few INDs and NDAs in the areas of virology, oncology and CNS.I was scientific advisor for commercial group involving in academic collaboration and alliance, due diligence, and some marketing activities. I was also a member of Valeant develpment team involving in several programs in clinica trial stage. One of compounds I worked extensively, retigabine,was approved by both FDA and EMEA in 2011 as "Potiga™ and Trobalt™ , and is currently marketed by both GSK and Valeant.

I worked in bichemistry department at Schering, mainly working on structure-based drug design efforts on HCV and protein farnesyl transferase inhibitors.I established the first molecular biology lab for the biochemistry department, and published my first TIBS paper there. I was CDK4/6 project leader.

A postdoctoral fellow at Chris Walsh's lab in the department of Biological Chemsitry and Molecular Pharmacology;Conducted basic research of vancomycin resistant mechanism; Published 6 papers.
