Personal projects included initial implementation of Print Preview, language tooling, dynamic disk layout optimization (70% increase in app launch speed by reorganizing disk layout to match the order disk clusters are read in at launch time).Engineering Manager, Microsoft Proofing Tools group Initiated and led full redesign of all language processing and proofing APIs and tools (including spell check, grammar check, hyphenation, thesaurus, etc) across all Microsoft applications. API redesign and componentization (with patents on both) led to increase from 2 to 14 different Microsoft products shipping with the technologies, for the first release alone, across both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
