Contractual Programming tasks at a Nation-wide insurance company.SAFECO Life & Investments, Seattle – Served as a Senior Programmer, mentor, technology consultant, and lead developer in SAFECO’s Distribution Automation Department. Designed and developed extranet site for the distribution of insurance information to about 20,000 independent agents spread throughout the United States, and about 1,000 internal employees, providing information resources for multiple product lines within SAFECO. Designed and developed a worksite group life insurance calculator which was widely distributed to agents in the field, a custom extranet site used by 7,500 agents to view requirements for applications they submitted for clients, and SAFECO Sharebuilder, a partnered stock-brokerage portal.

Provided IT consultant services to several companies in a variety of industries, including Manufacturing, Electrical, and Engineering. At Firestone Agricultural Rubber Products Plant, designed and developed solution to automate inventory, quality control and process management in a large plant manufacturing agricultural rubber products, which integrated sensors, relays, and data systems into a centralized monitoring and control system. The system monitors heavy machinery plant-wide, tracking machine status, rubber product production and component utilizing sensors attached to the machines, a radio location beacon grid, and collecting data from existing Honeywell Program Logic Cards controlling the machines.
