The Advisory team is a consultancy function consisting of a mix of capabilities from experienced technologists to ex-CIOs and business leaders. Our aim is to "advocate for the customer" by helping IT to support their business' strategies and challenges.I focus on IT operations, operational efficiency, and how IT supports the business and systems through tooling, automation, people, processes, and technology.● Frequent conversations with customer IT Directors, Directors of Technology, CTOs, and CIOs about Softcat's capabilities in the advisory team and wider organisation● Building and proposing services engagements directly delivered by myself or the wider Softcat Services teams● Leading multi-faceted programmes being delivered by Softcat and its Partners● Working with sales to develop new services propositions for delivery by our EA and Professional Services teams● Common conversation themes include application, datacenter, and hybrid platform transformation, digital workspace, user experience, and IT capability and maturity development

Building upon the frameworks and processes created for the Solutions Architects team and applying these down through all layers of architectural engagement across Softcat's Solutions Design group. Prior to a change in role, I built the team from 5 heads to 17, with SMEs in a wider variety of infrastructure types and vendors.

Developing and leading a team of 5+ Solution Architects - building the engagement framework, design documentation and services that the team offers to the wider Softcat organisation. Sitting on the Design Review Board to provide cross-technology design guidance and approval as well as occasional "firefighting" activities.
