I have more than 20 of years of both industrial and academic experience in the area of Technology Commercialization and Patent Licensing across many technologies, including clean energy, digital video compression and transmission, digital television, smart building systems, carbon capture, gene expression, automated music characterization, silicon crystallization, microelectronic packaging, digital imaging, as well as others.In my role as Director of PowerBridgeNY, I lead the combined activities of 2 NYSERDA-funded Proof of Concept Centers (POCCs), one led by Columbia University and the other by NYU. These two POCCs, along with partners from Brookhaven National Laboratory, Cornell NYCTech, City University of New York, and Stony Brook University are tasked with bringing Clean Energy technologies out of the labs and into NYS startups.In my previous role as Senior Technology Licensing Officer at Columbia University, I negotiated more than 30 licensing deals including licenses with more than 10 startups.Prior to joining Columbia University, I worked at General Electric Company in Business Development, Patent and Technology Licensing, and Trademark Licensing. Before GE, I worked at Hughes Electronics in Product Management, Marketing Management, and Sales in products such as DirecTV, Fire Sensing and Suppression Systems and Infrared Imaging Systems.I have a BS in Optics from the University of Rochester, an MS in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University and an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
