As Director of PowerBridgeNY, I lead the combined activities of 2 NYSERDA-funded Proof of Concept Centers (POCCs), one led by Columbia University and the other by NYU. These two POCCs, along with partners from Brookhaven National Laboratory, Cornell NYCTech, City University of New York, and Stony Brook University are tasked with bringing Clean Energy.

I manage Columbia's licencing activities in a number of areas in Engineering/Physical Sciences. Currently I cover our activities in standards-based licensing, including being Columbia's representative to the Board of Directors of MPEG LA and Columbia's representative to the Premier BD patent pool (Blu-Ray). My role in Trademark licensing was the front end of the business - evaluating and executing on selecting new trademark license programs, including not only the products that would bear the GE trademark, but also selecting the licensee.

As the first person to hold this position at GE, much of my role early on was to bridge the gap between GE Licensing - a licensor of technology and GE Global Research - a creator of technology.I helped create new processes and procedures to identify, screen and review opportunities as well as to identify, protect and track IP on behalf of GE Licensing.As.
