Climate expert specializing in climate change and its impacts, especially as they relate to agriculture and stormwater issues in the Midwest. I have over 35 years of experience as a climatologist including serving as the State Climatologist for Illinois for over 20 years. I can help address climate change issues. Furthermore, I work with a wide range of users and stakeholders including engineers, scientists, planners, and conservationists, as well as federal, state, and local officials on issues related to climate. Recently, I was elected to the scientific advisory committee of the Nature Conservancy for Illinois. Regarding research, I have worked on a number of research projects looking at drought, extreme rainfall events, 19th and 20th- century climate change, potential future climate change, as well as the impacts of weather and climate extremes. Recent projects include the development of climate tools for farmers (www.agclimate4u.org) and the update to Bulletin 70 (rainfall design study) for Illinois. I am the lead author for the Midwest Chapter of the 4th National Climate Assessment that was released in 2018.
