I am a staff developer that specialises in the development of digital capabilities at both an institutional and individual staff level.This involves being an active member of internal digital steering groups and working closely with key business areas and external agencies, such as JISC, to develop culture, infrastructure and practices to help grow organisational digital capabilities.As a qualified trainer I create and deliver programmes to ensure we have people with the right experience and skills to succeed within the organisation. The courses I develop and deliver cover a variety of topics, including emotional intelligence, Mental Health First Aid, customer service, team working, project management, chairing meetings, web-design and web-authoring, SharePoint, Office 365 (Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel etc.), Webex, Creating accessible online content and many more.Online learning is also a key part of my role. I commission, develop and manage online learning platforms, and work with subject matter experts from across the institution to buy-in and customise E-Learning courses, or to design and develop E-Learning in-house using a variety of E-Learning authoring tools. I hugely enjoy the technical, creative and team working aspects required. Such E-Learning includes the university strategy, equality and diversity, anti-bribery, unconscious bias, information security, whistleblowing, the Prevent duty, reasonable adjustments, safeguarding, menopause awareness, business continuity and many more.Another area I enjoy greatly is Project Management. I am a PRINCE2 Practitioner and have a lot of experience in leading on and delivering various organisational projects, such as the development of digital platforms (websites, online digital resources, LMS) or training and development solutions (such as digital capabilities assessments, and competency frameworks).I have developed several successful corporate web sites, and in my spare time I enjoy creating WordPress websites for family, friends and contacts. I can code fluently in HTML and CSS and am developing my PHP and JavaScript coding skills. I am a Certified Internet Webmaster Web Foundations Associate and a keen follower of web technologies.My goal is to develop my skills and experience within Organisational Design and Development. I would like to be a self-employed OD practitioner within the next 10 years, utilising my expertise within digital skills development.
