Continuation of my job at Ruckus/Brocade/Arris when CommScope bought Arris. I managed a team of Sales Engineers selling Ruckus' carrier grade WiFi, switching, and CBRS LTE products into Charter.

Brought in to design and scale Clearwire’s AAA infrastructure to support a retail and wholesale customer base of 10 million subscribers. Worked with business teams to determine how to provision and support feature sets for retail and multiple MVNO customers. Designed callflows, provisioning commands, and data schema. Worked extensively with Bridgewater Systems to implement new features in their AAA product and to improve performance. Performed capacity planning and load testing to develop AAA expansion roadmaps to achieve required capacity. A trusted resource at Clearwire, pulled into high-profile issues across the company, including devices, DPI, RAN, core network, IT, network analytics, revenue assurance and customer care.Recipient of the 2010 “Clearly the Best Award” recognizing achievement as one of the Top-50 employees at Clearwire. Participated in LTE core vendor requirements definition and vendor selection. Evaluated PCRF, HSS, and OFCS solutions from leading vendors. Researched how to bill LTE usage and control network elements in RAN-sharing environments.

Sales Engineer working with various existing and prospective customers. Called on several large Cable MSOs, Voice over Broadband companies, a Tier-1 European carrier, and several Tier-2 domestic carriers. Produced quotes, designed and sized VoIP networks, and assisted customers with technical issues. Also working with a large multinational reseller to integrate Sonus’ products into the reseller’s end-to-end WiMax and GPON offerings. Participated in Architecture discussions, large multi-vendor interoperability test plan, as well as responding to numerous RFPs from vendors around the world. Built sales training materials for reseller and worked to educate their business development teams on the advantages of Sonus’ products in the marketplace

Represented Sonus Networks in a 9 month technology evaluation at Nextel’s New Technologies Lab. Built system to transport iDEN and CDMA phone calls across an IP backbone. Gathered customer requirements, gave presentations and demos, wrote test plans, conducted research, performed tests, and produced a Findings Report. Worked with iDEN, GSM MAP, IS-41 and SS7.Provided on-site Engineering for launch of America Online’s residential VoIP product offering. Worked with customer to construct new network functionality as well as harden existing services. Utilized previous experiences to provide feedback to Sonus and AOL regarding network management practices as well as new product functionality.

Designed a multi-service VoIP and data network for a greenfield third world carrier to extend service to rural areas. Worked with satellite vendors to understand capabilities and available services. Developed entire Network Plan and Evaluated products for VoIP edge and backbone access, WiFi, and Wireless Local Loop. Constructed SIP lab for a Federal Agency to emulate typical residential and commercial VoIP applications on the Internet. Setup entire closed-network system to emulate the Internet, including multiple SIP proxy servers, a collection of DNS & ENUM servers, DHCP, TFTP, Web, SMTP, and POP servers.

Part of a small team working to extend Genuity's dial and DSL networks internationally. Participated in all aspects of the business, including sales presentations to potential customers, evaluating in-country vendors, contract negotiations, developing service descriptions, and launching services.Was lead US engineer responsible for complete rebuild of AOL Japan's dialup network in 2000. Upgraded hardware and rebuilt backbone while acquiring 43 pops from our biggest competitor. Designed and built network for AOL Canada in 2001. Proposed dial/DSL networks for Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Germany.

Key member of engineering team that built one of the largest, highest quality remote access networks in the world. Primary customer was America Online. Scaled network from original 10,000 modem design to over 1 million modem capacity. Played active role in all functional areas aspects of the network, including design, vendor evaluation, provisioning, troubleshooting, tools development, metric collection, system administration, and analysis.Managed small engineering group and served as top-level escalation contact for 24 hour operations center. Represented Genuity Engineering in front of our largest customer, America Online, for 3+ years.
