With over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, risk, and compliance, I am passionate about creating and implementing robust and effective programs that protect data, systems, and customers. As the Director for Cybersecurity and Compliance at GigNet, a telecom start-up that provides high-speed internet and digital services to the hospitality industry in Mexico and the Caribbean, I was responsible for designing and managing all aspects of enterprise security, compliance, and risk, as well as delivering cybersecurity services to our customers.Some of my recent achievements include defending against millions of network attacks and targeted phishing and brute force login attacks with zero loss of critical data, building a vendor security and compliance program that reduced shadow IT, software redundancy, and high-risk contracts, and creating an opportunity for GigNet to resell 24/7 cybersecurity services to customers, recovering the costs of building the initial program and driving growth. I have also successfully ensured compliance with PCI, GDPR, CCPA, Mexican Data Privacy Law, and PIPEDA across six organizations under the Apple Leisure Group umbrella, where I previously served as the Global Senior Manager for Data Privacy, Compliance, and Risk. I have a proven track record of leading award-winning teams as a Technical Program Manager, such as the first Commercial Exchange Cloud Service (over 20 million users), Global Network Initiative compliance program for all of Microsoft, the Samsung UNI-A project, and the iPort venture. I hold the Certified-CISO, PCI Professional, and CISSP certifications, was a PMI PMP for 20 years, and have completed cybersecurity courses at Harvard University and UC Berkeley.
