Hired as VP Operations I currently work as an independent consultant to manage Publishing Procurement and Custom Publishing programs. Publishing includes the production of Comics, Trade Paperbacks, Hard Cover books, Posters, Packaging, Displays and more. Negotiate and manage Subscription, Newsstand and Direct distribution relationships. Publishing operations projects include leading Oracle ERP implementation, planning and implementing a digital publishing management production system. Custom Publishing produces integrated marketing campaigns that leverage the Marvel Universe with international clients across Print, Online, Movie, Licensing and Retail Partners.

Gibson Greetings-Cincinnati, OH Gibson implemented a cost-cutting initiative to shut their 40+ year old manufacturing headquarters and outsource much of the greeting card production. As consultants we needed to identify the people, process and technology that managed the existing workflows from design through distribution. Redesigning the process required identifying the right partners, negotiating those contacts and establishing a production tool to schedule, track and manage the workflow.Herff Jones- Kansas City, MO and Cleveland, OHWith plant consolidation and peak yearbook season upon Herff Jones, I was retained to identify contingency production partners from my professional network to supplant the peak season volume. Negotiating with printers, binderies and specialty providers, we were able to meet delivery schedules, while retaining top quality and full profitability. We have since increased our relationship to assist with the Fine Papers group to identify additional production facilities with letterpress, stamping/die-cutting and folding capabilities. Working with both Fine Papers and Yearbooks, I successfully negotiated paper contracts resulting in significant material cost savings and consolidated repetitive paper options.Weightman Advertising-Philadelphia, PACreated a customized prepress and production technology solution to streamline and optimize advertising and marketing campaigns. Recruited new project managers and trained stakeholders how to best insure the quality, cost and timing of hundreds of concurrent projects for the then-Number 1 agency in Philadelphia. Wizards of the Coast- Renton, WA (A division of Hasbro)Hired to develop, test and refine manufacturing controls to attain top quality manufacturing of trading/game cards, exclusive books and custom packaging for the official Pokemon, Star Wars, Harry Potter series.

Fleer/SkyBox International-Mount Laurel, NJSenior Project Manager and New Product Development: (full time & consulting)When newly hired CEO, Frank O’Connell decided to outsource the project management of the growing SkyBox trading Card Company, he retained a group of a dozen or so consultants ready in the wings to take over production of projects already in progress. Over one weekend we were deployed across the country to take ownership of the company’s flagship trading card programs. As an experienced production manager with expert project management skills, I led and managed many of the company’s premiere New York relationships including NFL, NBA, Marvel and DC comics. Subsequently, Marvel Entertainment purchased SkyBox, enabling me to plan an instrumental role in merging the cultures and providing leadership to the nuances of entertainment products. As a team leader and senior project manager, I continued strengthening these skills and deepening my knowledge of the Marvel brand, directing all production-orientedfacets of Marvel’s trading cards and spearheading New Product Development of cards, products, collectibles and stored value cards.
