I’m a business attorney who solves problems for innovation-based clients. I relish dynamic, entrepreneurial environments and live for the opportunity to work with these companies. Like most attorneys, I began my career as an associate at a law firm. But my entrepreneurial spirit led me to start my own law firm and a number of business ventures. My legal and business experience helps me truly understand the challenges facing growing companies and industry disruptors.My clients rely on me to be their strategic legal counsel to provide the information and analysis necessary to make critical decisions. My law practice focuses on technology and software, corporate and business law, intellectual property (IP), and international business. I work frequently with technology companies and small & mid-sized businesses. Although my clients are businesses, I’m actually advising people -- the owners and management team. They can be overwhelmed with complex issues. Burdened by the psychological aspect of a decision. Torn by the personal capital invested in their business. My clients come to me because I’m more than a technician, I’m a problem solver. I'm someone who's been in their shoes. Who understands what it means to be a business owner - with customers, investors, employees and families depending on them. One matter that illustrates my approach and reminds me why I became an attorney involves a client who was facing a debilitating IP infringement lawsuit. Despite a weak legal position, by digging deep to understand the dynamics of the situation and using my unique skills and abilities, I was able to secure a successful outcome that saved the company and the jobs of the 30 employees.Some lawyers are intimidated by the chaotic awesomeness of fast-growing, entrepreneurial businesses.
