As Innovation Lead at the University of Sydney, I work closely across the University community to provide significant and positive research and teaching outcomes. With a working background which includes twenty-five years in the information technology industry and sixteen years in the education sector, I have developed deep expertise in how technology can engage and link learners, educators, and communities. For the past 11 years, I have worked with a team of technologists, academics, and students at the University to encourage the implementation of technology into the classroom and the laboratory.Today, at the University, I fill the role of thought leader, intrapreneur, and futurist working in the TechLab with the primary objective of enabling a more connected University and transforming the way education and research are underpinned by technology in Australia. My current focus includes pioneering the use of Generative AI to revolutionise educational methodologies and research practices. Technologically augmenting the classroom and laboratory can fundamentally change the way curriculum is delivered and consumed, and the way research is executed, ensuring our students and researchers are equipped with the most advanced tools available.
