My motivation is to inspire people to use their talents (i.e. personality, motivation and cognitive capacities) at work and is based on positive psychology. According to my opinion, personal development solely based on closing competency-gaps (competency management) is a perspective which neglects the talents or strengths of a person and illustrates the prevailing negative bias of psychology (‘grass doesn’t grow faster if you pull it’). I believe that when people use their talents at work, they are not only capable of performing the job but will also experience work engagement; a persistent, positive, affective-motivational state of fulfillment in employees that is characterised by energy, dedication and absorption. By founding SLIM assessments in 2011, a talent management consulting firm, we help clients and organizations to manage their talent more effectively through talent assessment, executive assessment, high-potential identification, succession planning, job analysis and competency development. The assessment tools we use represent the latest techniques in human capital research (e.g. situational judgment tests). Our approach is evidence-based. We put much value on the basic principles of responsibility, respect and integrity.
