Jim began his career with May Department Stores. He grew to Divisional VP of Venture Stores. He led retail sales of over $270M. His oversight was diverse ranging from retail, restaurant, grocery, general merchandise, and pharmacy. He used his experience and skill set acquired in this role to begin his career leading operations for Office Depot, APS, Ross Stores, Interstate Batteries, in the role of CEO at Ally Clinical Diagnostics and Diamond Pegasus.In 1995, Jim joined Office Depot. He oversaw sales $150M in annual revenue and an operating team of 700. Recruited by APS, Inc. in 1996, he was challenged to revive stagnant business operations. As the Corporate VP of Sales and Marketing, he supported 1,000 stores and $630M in annual revenue. In 1999, Jim joined Ross Stores as a District Manager and rose to the level of Regional VP. He managed a $1.8B territory. He opened 105 locations becoming adept in real estate and construction. He created lean process improvement initiatives that saved the company $14M annually and achieved "Region of the Year" four consecutive years while establishing a new record achieving a 90% customer satisfaction score. Sourced by Interstate Batteries to grow the franchise system as Director of Operations in 2008 and expanded the role to include Development and Real Estate/Construction services. He led stores in 50 states with $180M revenue. Jim added 170 locations in four years.In 2014, Jim joined a startup to launch Ally Clinical Diagnostics. As the CEO, he built a team to develop four new laboratories in Dallas. Jim also acquired an in-network lab for the portfolio. He grew the business from no revenue in 2014 to $64 million in 2016 and EBITDA of $16M. Jim positioned the business for an acquisition. This led to offers of $50 million plus.In 2017, Jim established Diamond Pegasus and in 2022 co-founded Tellus Technologies Ltd. His efforts include laboratory acquisitions and the proliferation of new technologies including natural gas decarbonization resulting in hydrogen and graphene production derived from methane emissions.
