About Jim Edwards

In the spring of 1982 I was asked to attend a meeting to begin a youth center in the inner-city of Terre Haute, Indiana. At first I declined but finally agreed to attend. I then found that I was on a committee to create the center. I was then asked if I would be the director. Again I declined but finally agreed to be a part-time volunteer director until they could find a full-time director. I stayed in that position until August of 1990 when I left ISU and became the full-time director. I spend much of my time helping with crisis intervention, grant writing, and program implementation.On June 1, 2022 I retired from Ryves Youth Center and undertook a new challege as Executive Director of Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity. I then decided to retire and left Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity, and am now learning how to relax.Specialties: Successful grant writer, Certified Prevention Professional, skills in Windows-based software. computer repair, basic networking, photography...
