Jimena studied Industrial Engineering at Universidad Politécnica of Madrid (UPM), when she worked as an Optimization Consultant at baobab soluciones. She started to feel attracted by business and innovation, so she took a Master's Degree in Industrial Management, while she worked at the Royal Theater of Madrid and collaborated with NotPla in an innovation project for a Spanish candy company.She studied half of the Master's programme at KTH university (Stockholm), where she got involved in Norrsken House, a coworking space for social tech entrepreneurs. She then got a scholarship by UPM and Fundación Rafael del Pino to pursue an International Leadership Master's Degree, where she got the opportunity to study in China (BIT and Shanghai University) and Boston (Harvard University and MIT). At the time, she started collaborating with the Sustainable Organizations Research Group (GIOS) at UPM. She also carried out a project for Barrabes biz, an innovation consulting firm.She started working at Capgemini invent as an Innovation and Strategy consultant. After that, she worked at frog as a Researcher, Service Designer and Strategist, where she carried out Design Research and Strategy projects for clients such as IKEA, Acciona, Mapfre and Securitas among others. She was also in charge of internal innovation and external collaboration with other stakeholders. She lead Sustainability and Social Impact team in Spain and worked at the Planet Centric Design international core team. Later, she joined Garaje de Ideas, where she specialized in Systems Thinking and Futures Design. She worked on strategy at BBVA Design Team and launched internal projects such as Open Freakness Medium blog. She also collaborates with various universities on start-up mentoring and innovation, facilitating hackathons. Apart from that, she teaches Innovation and Design Thinking to MBA and MSc students at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.Now, she is stablished as a Freelance Strategist. She is also launching her own business, that offers programs and experiences to flare up creative potential in designers, artists and entrepreneurs.
