IALEIA is the largest professional organization in the world representing law enforcement analysts. It is based in the United States, and is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 corporation. IALEIA is managed by an international Board of Directors consisting of nine elected IALEIA members. Several board members are also supported by volunteer committees. IALEIA also has an Executive Advisory Board appointed by the President. IALEIA supports regional chapters throughout the world. IALEIA has a certification program for analysts, a code of ethics, and bylaws that provide structure for the organization. We represent law enforcement analysts in a variety of venues, and provide an environment of community by establishing regional chapters.

The West Texas High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) was established in 1990 as part of the Southwest Border HIDTA which stretches the U.S. Border with Mexico from Southern California, through Arizona and New Mexico, to the southern tip of Texas. The West Texas HIDTA region encompasses twelve west Texas counties that adjoin 490 miles of international border with Mexico.The mission of the West Texas HIDTA is to dismantle the drug trafficking organizations (DTO) in our region and to stop the flow of illegal drugs into the United States. We will make our area unattractive to the DTO’s via cooperative efforts in intelligence, investigation, interdiction, forfeiture, and prosecution initiatives.Together, we will “target harden” our area via development and coordination of multi-agency initiatives.

IAFIE was formed in June 2004 as a result of a gathering of sixty plus intelligence studies trainers and educators at the Sixth Annual International Colloquium on Intelligence at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. This group, from various intelligence disciplines including national security, law enforcement and competitive intelligence, recognized the need for a professional association that would span their diverse disciplines and provide a catalyst and resources for their development and that of Intelligence Studies. Purpose-Expanding research, knowledge, and professional development in intelligence education;-Providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information for those interested in and concerned with intelligence education; -Advancing the intelligence profession by setting standards, building resources, and sharing knowledge in intelligence studies; -Fostering relationships and cultivating cooperation among intelligence professionals in academia, business, and government; -Developing, disseminating, and promoting theory, curricula, methodologies, techniques, and best practices for pure and applied intelligence;-Serving as a liaison between other professional organizations and centers of excellence.

Penn State’s online GEOINT certificate is fully accredited by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF). The International Association of Crime Analysts was formed in 1990 to help crime analysts around the world improve their skills and make valuable contacts, to help law enforcement agencies make the best use of crime analysis, and to advocate for standards of performance and technique within the profession itself. We accomplish these goals through training, networking, and publications.IACA membership is around 1,500 members and climbing. Members include crime analysts, intelligence analysts, police officers of all ranks, educators, and students. The majority of our members (roughly 86%) are from agencies within the United States of America. Non-U.S. members include analysts from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, the Cayman Islands, Chile, China, Cyprus, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Haiti, India, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Rwanda, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Venezuela.

This is a volunteer position, along with volunteer chapter officers from across the State of Texas. We serve more than 130 IALEIA members and our desire is to expand networking opportunities, and forge new affiliation with the private sector, academia, businesses, and law enforcement agencies at the local, county, state, tribal, federal and global levels, maintaining mission objectives of IALEIA.

The United States Border Patrol is a federal law enforcement agency within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Its 20,200 Agents[1] are primarily responsible for immigration and border law enforcement as codified in the Immigration and Nationality Act.
