(CTG Inc.) as a contract employee working in the Toshiba GCS (Global Commerce Solutions) National Retail Services Center (NRSC), formerly known as the IBM NRSC. Toshiba puchased IBM Retail Store Solutions (RSS) and IBM NRSC in 2012. Toshiba GCS is a jointly owned company of Toshiba and IBM. Performing integration testing on customized solutions for Toshiba GCS / IBM retail customers for Self Checkout products. Planned and executed numerous system integration tests on Self Checkout systems within a lab environment. Wrote and executed customized sets of test cases to verify new functions requested by retail customers. This also involved upgrading and testing of all components associated with a Self Checkout system, which includes: IBM 4690 OS Point-of-Sale store controllers for retail, Windows OS, IBM Store Integrator (SI), IBM Supermarket Application, IBM Application for Client/Server Environment (IBM ACE), hardware and firmware for all I/O peripherals on a Self Checkout system such as scanner/scales, printers and pinpads; and all hardware and programming components inside of a Self Checkout Lane. Job responsibilities include: upgrading programming components, designing / writing customized test cases, executing the test cases, documenting software defects, tracking the defect status, testing of defect fixes from the developers and keeping Toshiba GCS project team leaders and management updated on progress and status of the testing.
