After less than a year at LDS I was offered to be the LDS supervisor, looking after 12 members of staff. Day-to-day duties include complaint handling, ensuring everything runs smoothly within LDS and recruiting new staff members for the team.Approximately a third of Barclays start-up business accounts come through LDS and after opening over 35,000 accounts last year we are aiming for 38,000 this year.

Working on the LDS team, we contact customers who are looking to open business accounts with Barclays for their new companies. In order to do this we book customers in for appointments to see a business manager in branch.The LDS team also register customers for data services, part of an accounting software used by Barclays customers. This involves taking customers through security procedures.
