Charleston, SC, September 24, 2018 – Colliers International | South Carolina announced today that James R. (Jim) Garrett, Jr., MCR, has joined the company as Market President in Charleston. In Garrett’s new role, he will be responsible for the management of Colliers’ Charleston area brokerage staff, recruiting and business development as well as community and civic affairs and economic development. He will also serve on the company’s statewide Management Committee and its Board of Directors.Jim comes to South Carolina after eight years with Colliers International in Columbus, Ohio where he served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director. Prior to joining Colliers | Columbus, he was associated with NAI Global as Executive Vice President of its national brokerage services group.While in Ohio, Jim was responsible for launching Colliers’ Cleveland office, serving as Chair of Colliers Managers’ National Steering Committee and was a regular speaker on the subject of commercial real estate at The Ohio State University Center for Real Estate. He is a member of the Midwest Real Estate Magazine’s Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame and holds the MCR designation.Additionally, Jim sits on the Board of Governance at the Harbour Club at West Edge, is on the West Ashley Revitalization Commission and a civilian liaison in the Joint Base Charleston Honorary Commander's program.
