Employed within the Business Services department of the college to deliver a wide range of training programmes using frameworks set by City & Guilds which include IT user qualifications to level three, IT Apprenticeship specialist frameworks to level three, IT Professional to level two and specialist skills training on specific applications for businesses. Delivery methods depend on size and location and can constitute lecturing style programmes, one to one programmes and eportfolio. Incorporated into the Apprenticeship delivery is Functional skills requiring Maths, English and ICT delivery at both level one and level two.

Promoted into this role to manage and supervise the day to day running of NVQ operations for Learndirect in the Cambridgeshire area and oversee budgets, KPI’s, achievements, retention, company targets which contributed to ensuring a profitable training centre. The role also covered line management of staff, appraisals, caseloads and management meetings in accordance with company requirements. Students on programme were provided direction, guidance, support and assistance to learners and participants enabling them to access and complete their training programmes. The role also required own caseload for assessing and delivering training to candidates to help achieve their portfolio of evidence. Other duties involved providing advice and guidance, promoting business by attending seminars and external meetings at conferences, assisting in evaluating customer surveys and providing feedback to senior managers, working with confidential information and keeping to tight deadlines.

Employed to line manage and supervise the day to day duties of a busy and vibrant Learn direct t centre to achieve and exceed contract and company targets. This involved managing everyday operations of the business covering full Learndirect training packages including English, Maths and ICT. Whilst managing several staff at the centre to oversee the training for both students in employment and students wishing to re-train, supported senior management in negotiating contracts with a variety of local enterprises including Job Centre Plus. Also within the role were the requirements to manage KPI’s, collate, analyse and prepare self-assessment reports and review development plans on a regular basis. Administration duties in the role covered appraisals, one to one performance reviews, quality framework on service delivery and regular team meetings to discuss targets and achievements.

Development of training packages, costing, resources and length of course was also part of the role for the prospectus available throughout Peterborough. Managerial duties were also required to oversee day to day running of college provision.
