Jim Haas is a hospitality industry professional serving 30 years in Senior roles within the destination resort venue. The resort experience has given Jim the opportunity to be exposed to a broad range of responsibilities and develop a unique mixture of professional aptitudes including risk management, employee safety, public safety, human resources, operational management and project management.Jim’s approach to management has always focused on the guest and employee experience exceeding expectations while providing a safe environment. During Jim’s tenure at Snowshoe Mountain his accomplishments included the development of a fully integrated emergency response system for the mountain community, a campus solutions for fire and safety protection systems, and managed the transition of the Human Resource department from a paperwork processing function to a viable HR entity. Also during the HR transition, Jim dramatically reduced Workers Compensation costs through aggressive claim management while establishing the path to a self-insured Workers Compensation program as well as initiating a self-insured employee health benefits program. Jim was the author of the first risk and safety program at Snowshoe as the first Director of Risk Management, developing the initiatives and strategies of the loss prevention program including specification and purchase of all insurance products as well as all litigation management for the company. His management responsibilities included multiple operational departments with 120 employees and $3.5 million in operating budgets.With the formation of his company, Asset Protection Strategies, LLC, Jim takes his years of experience and now helps hospitality entities protect their patrons, people and property while providing a memorable experience.Recent experiences include analyzing oil and gas abstracts and compiling into written ownership and lease title.
