SEIU Local 1000 conducts all aspects of labor relations for 95,000 California state civil service workers including representing their interests before administrative bodies, in the courts, legislature and in the electoral arena.As Vice President; Directed and coordinated work between statewide union organizing and representation departments along with elected member leadership and approximately 2000 stewards Launched and completed a statewide steward evaluation and needs assessment to update steward data and identify training priorities Initiated and developed training modules for the Leadership Academy, an innovative online training platform, for union stewards statewide Resolved concerns, complaints and conflicts among member leaders and between members and staff Collaborated in developing plans for increasing volunteer member engagement
