My research strives to bring us closer to the goal of understanding the underlying structure of signals and find their compactness in representations for higher-level data processing tasks, such as data classification, extracting meaningful latent structure, guiding to build more efficient sensors or design the data collecting procedure, etc.In the past five years, my research mainly focus on the theory and application of machine learning. The application fields of my past research covered many interdisciplinary subjects, e.g. remote sensing image data analysis, image scene understanding and object detection, topic models, probabilistic cognitive models and wireless sensing networks.My current focus is on machine learning and deep learning applications under different industrial scenarios.

Implementing ideas from formal semantics, functional elements (such as determiners) are represented by functions mapping from expressions of one type onto composite expressions of thesame or other types. These composition functions are induced from corpus data by statistical learning of mappings from observed context vectors of input arguments to observed context vectors of composite structures. We model a number of compositional processes in this way, developing a coherent fragment of the semantics of English in a large-scale data-driven fashion. Show less
