Director, Strategic Communications And Public Affairs
Current- Lead a communications team that develops effective, proactive, multimedia messaging projects that inform, engage and educate residents on the broad spectrum of services provided by the City while enhancing and defending its reputational interests;- Direct the City’s state and federal lobbying efforts on issues important to the City’s legislative priorities in Topeka and Washington, DC;-Channel contemporary research and measurement techniques and multimedia messaging tactics to create breakthrough messaging that influences key stakeholder audiences;-Supervise media relations, survey research, graphic design, video and streaming production, public engagement strategies, and project/campaign management services of departmental and city-wide communications;- The City of Wichita is the largest city in Kansas with ~400,000 residents, an annual budget of $650M+ and more than 3000 employees;- The communications department works closely with the elected mayor and council and reports to the city manager.
