Jim concentrates his practice in complex commercial and insurance coverage litigation. Over the past twenty-five years, he has represented corporations and individuals in matters ranging from employment disputes to multimillion dollar securities and consumer fraud class actions. Jim also has represented insurers in matters involving directors and officers, employment practices, cyber, general liability, fiduciary liability and professional liability policies. He has defended various professionals, including lawyers, real estate brokers, accountants and insurance brokers. Jim has tried cases in state and federal courts around the country and has argued appeals before state and federal appellate courts. Jim frequently speaks and writes on developing areas of law, including director and officer liability, cyber exposures and complex civil litigation. Jim has been quoted in such publications as Directors Monthly, National Underwriter, Business Insurance and The Journal of Commerce. Jim served as Associate Editor of the DePaul Business Journal.
