  • Kula Bio
Vice President Sales And Field Service
    Kula Bio Dec 2022 - May 2024
    Natick, Massachusetts, Us
I was recruited to develop and oversee all aspects of Kula Bio’s first commercial product launch. It was evident very quickly that I had to switch my focus to first positioning the company by creating the marketing strategy for Kula Bio and our biofertilizer, hire a sales team, and launch the marketing strategy.Part of my overall marketing strategy included leveraging existing relationships with Ag retailers and growers to obtain new leads as well as attending over 8 conferences and trade shows in 2023 to position Kula Bio in the market. Another significant challenge was identifying a practical use for our biofertilizer product. I was able to accomplish this by identifying the need to shift our product focus to specific crops to align with the specialized nature of how farmers would use the product. I also leveraged my extensive network within the industry, probing peers for their input and opinions on competitive products. This allowed me to more deeply understand the market and aided in the development of my strategic plan. One of my most significant achievements to date was the extensive market analysis that I conducted to locate and target specific crop areas where we could market the product and cultivate relationships with local farmers to execute field trials. We shifted our focus to California, where I was able to break the region into 5 distinct areas where we could target specific specialty crops to conduct the necessary field trials.
  • Aqua-Yield
    Chief Revenue Officer (Cro)
    Aqua-Yield Jan 2022 - Dec 2022
    Sandy, Utah, Us
During a period of change and significant growth, I was promoted to CRO after achieving record revenues during my two years as Vice President. I was able to continue the record-setting sales growth as CRO while holding full accountability for all revenue-generating activities that included product development and launch strategy, pricing, marketing, and sales management. During my entire tenure with Aqua-Yield, I achieved year-over-year 50% sales growth for the three-year period. The sales strategies I created and efficiently executed were built on competitive analysis, corresponding strategies and tactics. I also spearheaded organizational changes that included recruiting/promoting business unit directors and improved cross-functional collaboration. I was able to achieve continued record-setting sales growth with the implementation of the new sales structure as well as the development of a private label sales pipeline and the negotiation of 3 exclusive sales agreements with key distributors, which ultimately provided 60% of the company’s total revenue.
  • Aqua-Yield
    Vice President Of Sales
    Aqua-Yield Jan 2020 - Jan 2022
    Sandy, Utah, Us
During my tenure in this role, Aqua-Yield was operating in a start-up environment. I hit the ground running and identified a marketplace opportunity for a crop starter product, orchestrating the development of NanoCS, a product offering critical to the success of the company’s portfolio.I also facilitated an extensive rebranding effort for growing Aqua-Yield’s brand awareness in an industry unfamiliar with nanotechnology. By working with agronomy and marketing teams on social media messaging, website enhancements, technical specifications, and lead generation, I laid the foundation for increased sales and revenue opportunities. Expanding into new geographies was another avenue that we needed to pursue. By spearheading a rigorous research and trial campaign, I was able to lead the expansion into the corn belt of the upper Midwest. Part of this expansion included doubling the size of the sales team and placing the new hires in high-revenue-potential locations within this territory. Earning customer confidence was crucial to the growth Aqua-Yield needed to emerge from a start-up to commercial environment. I accomplished this by conducting 50+ presentations to growers and retailers to educate them on the benefits of deploying nanotechnology into liquid fertility and crop protection programs.
  • Midwestern Bioag
Vice President | P&L Responsibility | Wholesale And Direct-To-Farm Retail Sales
    Midwestern Bioag Nov 2016 - Jan 2020
    Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, Us
Throughout a transitional period during which Midwestern BioAg (MBA) transformed from a family-owned to investor-owned company, I led the planning and execution of strategies to propel expansion and growth of direct-to-farm and newly established wholesale sales. Bringing a fresh perspective and breaking down barriers to growth into the high-potential wholesale market, I unlocked the doors to dozens of new wholesale accounts. This effort included developing a strategic marketing plan to boost brand exposure, building strategic partnerships with Ag retailers, negotiating supply agreements with key co-ops, and increasing the sales footprint beyond the Midwest to western and southern U.S.I also spearheaded the market launch of MBA’s industry-first, innovative technology (TerraNu), working closely with operations and R&D to ensure quality. By focusing on early adopters and driving a “sample-size” retail sales strategy, we gained market confidence and rapid market penetration, and won the 2017 Wisconsin Innovation Award in the Agriculture sector for TerraNu.With my personal expertise in specialty liquid fertilizers, I led our team to more effectively position this product line to farmers, significantly increasing sales in the product line. Ramping up marketing efforts, I led the introduction of MBA to major tradeshows, with initial efforts successful in securing hundreds of qualified leads at Commodity Classic (where I personally presented TerraNu to 400 attendees) and introduced dozens of prospective customers to the TerraNu product via the Southwest Fertilizer Conference platform.

Working closely with the executive team, I crafted a strategic plan designed to double sales within 5 years. This included developing and spearheading growth initiatives such as negotiating several exclusive supply agreements with Pathway Biologic and Yara International. To fuel our growth initiatives, I led organizational restructuring and transformed the entire sales organization from a sales-driven to a market-driven culture. I also rolled out a talent retention program that improved the hiring process and fostered cross-organizational partnerships. My efforts resulted in a sustained high-performance culture with emphasis on achieving corporate strategic goals. Under my leadership we opened the door to sales in national and corporate accounts, and I personally developed an extensive network, capturing sales with customers such as Winfield, Pinnacle, and Wilbur Ellis, among others.Other key wins include triggering significant revenue growth by orchestrating 4 major product launches in new markets in <1 year.
