Founded and operated Larrea Engineering Construction Company as owner and project manager for 4 years. Began company as a subcontractor and in due course became prime contractor on several Caltrans highway rehabilitation projects. The scope of work performed on projects included freeway and bridge rehabilitation, concrete pavement removal and repaving operations. Additional projects included commercial building site work and tenant improvements. Responsibilities included all bidding, scheduling, and project oversight. Implemented the administrative practices required to do business with state, local municipalities and private companies. (Certified payroll, bond and insurance requirements, etc.) Established company safety programs and Certified the company as a Small Business and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise.

Projects worked on involved asphalt and concrete, standard and fast setting hydraulic cement, pavement rehabilitation, bridge seismic retrofits, freeway sound walls, and ramp rehabilitations.
