My web experience started out, as many people have, as a teenager making web sites for fun. I began when I was 15 making basic HTML sites. As time went on I added a few crudely drawn flash movies to the mix. Early on, it became more of a hobby than a career. I moved on to the University of Maryland under an Aerospace Engineering program, which I determined quite quickly wasn't for me. While I was attending the university, I had a work-study in a Mac lab where I learned a lot about Adobe Photoshop and graphic design. Eventually, I moved back home and enrolled in the computer science department there. I picked up various languages there and even took a few oddballs like CNC programming and AutoCAD. Throughout this time I was still dabbling in web design. I began to look for work in the web design field, but lack of professional experience was keeping me down. After a few dead end jobs, I got my chance with Nsite, LLC, a DOD contractor that does ColdFusion programming for the US military. I developed with ColdFusion, JQuery, Bootstrap and Apache Solr for Nsite. I gained a ton of knowledge and experience working with Nsite eventually progressing to Project Manager. In the fall of 2012 I taught a full day workshop and covered a one hour breakout session on Apache Solr and ColdFusion integration at CF.Objective(ANZ) in Melbourne, Australia. That led to a speaking opportunity at CF.Objective() in Bloomington, IN and eventually working my way to the top of my field. For the past decade I've provided software solutions for the defense community and the experience I've gained along the way has been invaluable. In 2015 I developed an interest in beekeeping. That interest quickly developed into a side business and significant hobby.
