As SurveyLocal’s Product and Technology lead, my responsibilities are both wide and deep… helping to establish the company’s strategic vision, keeper of the product roadmap, owning technical strategy, recruiting, hiring, mentoring and leading our talented development team, managing our application's infrastructure, data analysis, interfacing with enterprise customers on technical integrations, growth hacking, customer support, QA, UX design, and contributing a bit of code here and there.During my time with the company I established light weight product development processes and set the product's first formal road map. We raised a seed round at a $3mm valuation. I hired and built a small, efficient agile dev team. Then, focusing leadership and the team on customer experience, I designed and lead a rebuild of the core product to mature SurveyLocal from an over stressed MVP (that crashed nightly) to a polished V1 worthy of an innovative company poised to be a leader in their industry. As part of this process of transformation, I clarified the company's understanding of our customer's journey and established KPI's to give all departments a framework for understanding customer behavior for the first time. With fresh data in hand, I provided analysis of this behavior and lead new initiatives aimed at increasing user engagement, customer retention, improving customer onboarding and support processes and informing how we targeted lead qualification. Through these efforts we reached >90% activation rates, doubled both WAU and MAU, improved retention rates to >75% and saw our new platform support x10 message volume without batting an eye.Exited with an acquisition, December 2017
