With over 47 years experience Jim has a wide range of exposure to many different facets of the lighting industry. Jim spent his first 29 years managing a lighting center providing design and sales services to industry professionals and end users in the Chicago Area. He has designed lighting systems for a wide range of applications including residential, retail, hospitality, office and schools. Jim has spent the last 18 years in lighting education presenting and teaching. Jim has been active in the American Lighting Association (ALA) and is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). Jim has attained the Lighting Certified (LC) designation from the National Council on the Qualifications of Lighting Professionals and is a Certified Lighting Consultant (CLC) with the American Lighting Association. With the ALA, Jim sits on the educational task force, the education committee and the certification committee. He was assistant editor to the resent release of the updated version of the ALA’s “Guide to Residential Lighting” and is one of five members who review applicants on achieving their CLC certification. Jim has been honored with "The Pillar of the Industry Award" from the ALA.
