I have founded and worked in small technology companies and have also worked effectively in larger organizations.I am responsible for decision support analytics for the Nook eReader team at Barnes & Noble. I drove instrumenting our applications and delivering data in the current software release. We are currently using Hadoop to build dimensional models and OLAP cubes.As a Researcher in Adobe's Advanced Technology Labs, I designed, built and deployed an analytics system for Adobe's desktop and hosted applications. Challenging aspects of the project were nudging the product teams towards adoption and convincing the company that we could mitigate and overcome our privacy concerns. I also worked with web data collected by Omniture along with Adobe enterprise data. We were looking to extract higher value insights and to add compelling value to Omniture’s offering.My goal is to have fun with my colleagues while doing challenging, interesting and worthwhile work. I like to build tools that help people work more efficiently. I enjoy organizing people around these activities.I have worked in small and large companies. I’ve directly managed teams and I’ve also successfully organized distributed teams to accomplish challenging tasks through influence. I’ve done my share of cat herding.
