Jim has one of the most trusted voices in Northeast Ohio, after delivering newscasts on Cleveland’s radio airwaves for more than three decades. His name invokes credibility and integrity. And now, Jim is delivering the message of the mission of the American Red Cross: to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.Prior to his appointment as Communications and Marketing Manager for the Northeast Ohio Region of the Red Cross in 2015, Jim served as News Director at WDOK in Cleveland, gathering and delivering morning newscasts from 1994-2012. There he also produced and hosted "Cleveland Connection," a weekly public affairs program. Before that, Jim served as News Director at WERE and WWWE, also in Cleveland. Following his nearly 19 years at WDOK, Jim delivered morning newscasts at news/talk 1420 WHK in Cleveland. He also hosted an hour-long public affairs show called "The 11th Hour," and he delivered morning traffic reports for sister station 95.5 The Fish. After that, he delivered newscasts for the Rubber City Radio Group on WAKR, WQMX, and WONE in Akron. Among the many broadcast journalism honors he has earned is the 2023 President's Award from the Cleveland Association of Broadcasters and the 2013 Chuck Heaton Award, presented by The Press Club of Cleveland to a candidate who best exemplifies the sensitivity and humility that, along with his writing talent, were traits exhibited by legendary Plain Dealer sportswriter Chuck Heaton.An accomplished public speaker, Jim has served as Master of Ceremonies at many events, including the annual Medal of Valor awards program for the Rotary Club of Cleveland, the Deck the House benefit for Providence House, and the annual awards program for Cleveland EMS, where he was named Citizen of the Year in 2011.Jim is a member of The Rotary Club of Cleveland, and serves on the club's board of trustees.As Cleveland continues its comeback, Jim is dedicated to being a part of it, and to contributing to it in as many ways as he can.
