Directed all accounting functions for Texas assets valued at $25 Million for this Canada-based commercial and residential development firm. In addition, effectively managed a portfolio of 500,000 square feet of retail shopping centers and various land parcels. Directed distressed property renovation and marketing. Performed due diligence, identified issues and formulated strategies to reduce / eliminate legal and financial exposure, hired and supervised contractors and other vendors, handled purchases and sale of properties, and ensured safety and environmental compliance at job sites. Managed tenant relations at all assigned properties. Negotiated and resolved issues in a timely manner, enforced corporate guidelines, and leveraged business conditions to maximize profitability while maintaining client loyalty and satisfaction with both commercial and residential tenants. Duties also included assisting public auditors during year-end financials, Ad Valorem tax responsibility for all properties, and analyzed and negotiated tax appraisals to secure win-win resolutions.
