Network Operations Center Technician
As IntelSat NOC Technicians, we provide support to the RadioFrequency (RF) interference events, Occasional Use (OU), full-time managed services and basic network operations functions related to basic troubleshooting and the resolution of customer service issues. This position is responsible for replying to incoming calls, emails to coordinate and schedule services on behalf of customers utilizing occasional-use resources, monitoring information on all sites, network infrastructure, and Fiber backhaul. We conduct routine managed service and transport support through monitoring and system status checks to provide the highest levels of customer service, technical support, analysis and resolve service issues and minimize service interruptions. Additional Responsibilities:-Utilize tools to interpret and troubleshoot basic RF, digital video, audio IP signals and our global Fiber Optic Network.-Respond in a timely manner to incoming customer calls / emails with professionalism.-Participate in routine daily operational activities and alarm monitoring, with the goal of eliminating/mitigating any operational impact to customers.-Monitor full-time managed services as well as teleport RF/IF equipment, associated ground systems.-Perform troubleshooting for all full-time services while consistently following established processes and procedures.-Assist with the monitoring and execution all maintenance coordination activities, including troubleshooting video and IP routing as necessary.-Work closely with customers to maintain all service level agreements and resolve any RF, teleport and managed service trouble issues.-Create and review trouble tickets for all full-time services, RF interference issues or circuit events to ensure accurate documentation is maintained and all follow up actions are completed.-Escalate and report on service issue corrective measures to the Supervisor and Management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The IP/Data NOC Technician I job includes:• Monitor switching, digital, optical and associated telecommunications equipment.• Perform fault analysis, isolation and remediation in switching, digital, optical, and other technologies.• Perform incident management functions for all backbone network incidents• Document all alerts and actions taken in a variety of systems and tools• Develop extensive knowledge of EarthLink Communications products and services.• Provide Single Point of Contact duties for high-risk & service impacting events.• Interface with customers, engineers, vendors and technicians to resolve trouble reports.• Provide technical assistance for service partners and ILEC technicians during service impacting network events.• Carrier grade device management i.e. Software/firmware upgrades, maintenance procedures, and recovery tactics.• Operate in a 24 X 7 Network Operations Center; this includes shift work, 2nd and 3rd shift hours, and weekends• Perform maintenance level activities such as configuration changes, reloads, card insertion and removal, hardware upgrades on various IP platforms: Cisco 10K, Cisco 12K, Cisco 7600 series, Cisco 6500 series, Cisco Nexus switch platforms,• Associates degree or higher or equivalent experience• Demonstrable knowledge of the following IP protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Spanning Tree, UDLD, BFD• Demonstrable knowledge of the following platforms: Cisco 10K, Cisco 12K, Cisco 7600 series, Cisco 6500 series, Cisco Nexus switch platforms, Cisco CRS, Cisco ASR9K, Fortinet security platforms
Noc Surveillance Technician Ii
SUMMARY: The NOC Surveillance Technician is a critical role within the Network Operations Center. Surveillance Technicians are responsible for monitoring all of Earthlink’s core backbone infrastructure, performing triage and root cause identification and ensuring that all required groups are engaged to ensure timely and efficient resolution to any and all network events. In addition, the Surveillance Technicians will be responsible for internal communications related to network events and issues. A successful Surveillance Technician will be able to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment, taking data from multiple sources and being able to quickly diagnose the event to a root cause.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The NOC Surveillance Technician job includes:• Mastery of Local Area and Wide Area Network Fundamentals• Advanced knowledge of various network troubleshooting tools such as, but not limited to: ping, traceroute, telnet, ssh, dig, SNMP get.• Working experience with Netcool and Remedy.• Strong understanding of SNMP traps and syslog messaging with the ability to react to and perform fault analysis for various messages.• Ability to acknowledge multiple network alerts and messages and determine customer and/or network impact as a result of symptoms presented.• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents such as Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and Work Orders for scheduled maintenance. • Must be able to work independently with supervisory guidance, while focusing on a sense of urgency for customer impacting issues. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form with MetaSolv &Visio.• 24x7 shift-based monitoring of Earthlink’s core transport, Network-IP, and voice/switch nationwide infrastructure.
Dslam Test & Turn-Up Technician
- Performs implementation reviews and configures networking equipment in a live IP/Ethernet space.- Responsible for proper DSLAM to the BRAS configurations, testing, and turn-ups. - Works with both technicians and engineers to test and turn-up network devices.- Identifies and repairs faulty network configuration issues.- 12 Years+ Past experience with Ethernet and IP data networks.- Full understanding of DSL technology.- Hands on experience with building VLANs and ability to grasp advanced TCP-IP/Ethernet concepts.- Builds network configurations on Cisco 7600s & 10K, Alcatel-Lucent 7750, Adtran TA5000 & Calix C5 DSLAMS & E7 switches, Juniper Networks m10i & 320m, and RedBack se-800 Edge routers.
